Qualifications
Applicants for this position must be able to demonstrate a proven capability to control projects for a successful outcome, good customer relationship skills, good organisation and man management skills, technical competency in Marine Engineering and have a good working knowledge of project cost control and planning. Desirable traits will include self motivation, keen sense of achievement and commitment to proactive decision making.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or be eligible for Australian citizenship.
Responsibilities
FORGACS Ship Repair is Australia's largest ship repair company with repair centres along Australia's East Coast and Dockyards at Brisbane and Newcastle.
The company performs dry docking to Commercial and Naval vessels together with in-water repairs and other marine engineering services.
In addition to the Ship Repair business the company has a Ship Building and Project Engineering division which manufactures large marine and project structures.
The company is seeking Project Managers to supports its Ship Repair businesses.
The role involves the automonous management of Ship Repair Projects at either of the Dockyards and Sydney.
The successful applicant will ideally be based at Sydney or Newcastle and other company locations would be considered.
This is a key position in the company with excellent career prospects.
