Position Summary:
The Customer Relations Specialist (“CRS”) provides a link between the WNI Customer, WNI Sales and WNI Operations. The CRS communicates with internal and external Customers on a global basis, providing assistance to ensure satisfaction with all WNI products and services across each vertical -- marine, aviation, agriculture, energy, risk analysis, mobile and media. Additional responsibilities include account management for users of WNI proprietary software; and assists in the development of WNI risk communications products and services.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
• Respond to emails, phone calls and telexes from Ship Captains, Customers, Agents, WNI Sales Staff and subsidiary/affiliate offices about all stages of voyage planning
• Assist WNI Sales Staff by completing voyage summaries, quarterly reports and promotional materials to aid in the close of sales
• Provide customer service to mobile users of WNI cell phone weather products; and, to users of WNI's web-based products
• Provide product installation, trouble shooting and account management for WNI Voyage Planning Software (Orion, Polaris, OceanWatch / FleetWatch, Position Polling Service)
• Provide technical assistance regarding WNI risk communications products
• Provide testing and feedback on the development of new WNI risk communications products and services
• This position will be based in Sunnyvale, CA
Responsibilities
Requirements:
• Minimum of two (2) years customer service experience – preferably in marine software, marine engineering or other maritime services oriented business
• Ability to work with both internal and external Customers
• Strong listening skills; ability to interpret the needs of the Customer
• Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
• Attention to detail, accuracy and a sense of urgency in meeting the customers needs a must
• Superb follow-through skills and relationship management a must
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel (including writing of macros)
• Experience in using ACT! or any other contact database software
• Scripting in Unix / Linux highly desired
• Experience with web-based and text-based communication systems
• Experience with Orion, Polaris, OceanWatch / FleetWatch highly advantageous
• Ability and willingness to be on-call every other week and weekends Flexibility
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and business need
