Qualifications
Grand Bahama Shipyard is one of the newest shipyards in the world and as part of our continuing expansion we are looking to recruit a new Project Manager for our operations in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a technical background with at least HNC or equivalent qualifications together with a minimum of ten years experience in the ship repair and conversion field either gained through working in shipyards, at sea or as an owner's superintendent.
The Project Manager will have total responsibility for technical and commercial aspects of ship repair and conversion projects undertaken at the yard. He/she will be expected to be fully versed in the techniques required for production/ resource planning as well as for cost control and will be committed to operating in a high quality and environmentally friendly manner.
We are looking for someone who is a real self starter and has the necessary inter-personal skills to motivate those working with him/her and to maintain close working relationships with the yard's customers. The shipyard has to deliver on time, every time and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the leadership qualities which will be required to succeed in this very demanding environment.
This is a crucial hands on role in a young, dynamic and growing company, on a beautiful Bahamian Island !!. You will be part of a small team who work hard and play hard. The salary package is currently free of local taxes and contains the normal expatriate terms, it will be commensurate also with the status of the position.
