Qualifications
Grand Bahama Shipyard is one of the newest shipyards in the world and we are looking to recruit a new Materials Manager, to run the Purchasing, Warehousing and Logistics operations for our yard in Freeport, Grand Bahama.
The ideal candidate will have a technical background with at least HNC or equivalent qualifications together with a high degree of commercial acumen. He/she will need to have minimum of ten years experience in the field of ship operations and/or repairs, including previous experience of purchasing and logistics.

Responsibilities
The Materials Manager will have total responsibility for the buying, expediting, storage and control of all materials required by the shipyard and it’s customers. He/she will be expected to develop the control systems required to run the operations efficiently and will be fully computer literate and conversant in the techniques required for this role. He/she will also be familiar with and committed to operating within the framework of an ISO 9001 quality management system.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, someone who has a strong desire to succeed and someone who has the ability to operate under pressure within a diverse and fast moving environment. He/she will have the inter-personal skills necessary to motivate those working with them and the leadership qualities required to successfully drive this critical area of our operations.
This is a crucial hands on role in a young, dynamic and growing company on a beautiful Bahamian Island !!. You will be part of a small team who work hard and play hard. The salary package is currently free of local taxes and contains the normal expatriate terms; it will also be commensurate with the status of the position
