Responsibilities
Todd Shipyards, based in Seattle, WA, is a prime contract contender for four Jumbo Class Ferries to be built for the Washington State Ferries Division of the Washington State Department of Transportation, the nation’s largest ferry system. The ferries will have capacity for 130 automobiles and up to 1,202 passengers and crew. The vessels must be built in the State of Washington and have an estimated price range between $183 million to $223 million.
Todd is currently recruiting a Program Manager to initially manage all aspects of pre-contract efforts. Reporting to the President, this individual will manage and direct a Program Management Team, act as the primary interface with the Washington State Ferries Division, and coordinate the activities of all Todd functional departments and subcontractors. The Program Management Team will consist of a Manager of Design, a Manager of Production, a Manager of Planning & Scheduling, a Manager of Materials & Subcontracts, and a Contract Administrator. A number of these key positions will be filled with personnel not currently working for Todd.
During the pre-contract phase, the Program Manager will focus on vessel design, build strategy and regulatory requirements, along with defining work to be conducted by subcontractors and suppliers. Concurrently, the Program Manager will plan the internal processes and procedures to support the effective execution of Todd design obligations, as well as develop and implement project controls and techniques for timely and accurate documentation development. Post-contract, this individual will direct the execution and successful completion of this major construction program.
