Qualifications

Qualifications include experience in oil spill management, leadership and effective supervision, seamanship (deck seamanship, boat-handling, marine maintenance), and a mechanical aptitude. Must have effective problem solving, communications and computer skills. A high school diploma is required along with a valid driver's license. A marine document or license is desirable. Must be available for travel within the assigned geographical areas and elsewhere. Safe and good business practices are integral. Physical requirements as prescribed by the Company.

Responsibilities

The Response Supervisor is responsible for providing effective and efficient spill response services using all available resources and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position is accountable for the operations, maintenance, communications, contractor support, training and readiness of response equipment within the Supervisor's geographical areas of responsibility. In order to achieve these goals, the Supervisor maintains awareness of situations that affect MSRC's ability to respond quickly as necessary or appropriate; is familiar with the geographic areas and the contractors within these areas; and, maintains a positive state of readiness by being available to respond 24 hours a day, 365 days a year anywhere.
