Overview of Position:
This is a shore-based engineering/project management position in Chevron Shipping Company’s Marine Services Group. Located in San Ramon, CA, the position is open to both Chevron employees and outside applicants. The position provides engineering services for Chevron’s ocean-going vessels and offshore projects that have marine content. Vessels include crude oil tankers, petroleum products tankers, LPG & LNG tankers, barges, drill ships, and floating production, storage, and offloading vessels (FPSO’s). The position requires occasional domestic and international travel, visits to ships and other offshore units, shipyards, manufacturing facilities and eligibility to remain and work indefinitely in the United States. The ability to take occasional temporary international assignments starting early 2010 is highly desirable.

Chevron Shipping Co. LLC is accepting online applications for the position of LNG Systems/Cryogenic Engineer located in San Ramon, CA.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide LNG cargo system design engineering services for LNG Carrier new build construction and, repair projects.
• Provide technical support for LNG carrier operations including preparation and review of specifications and analysis,.
• Investigate cargo containment and associated cargo system problems on LNG carriers. Work with vessel management team, manufacturers, regulatory community, and other industry experts to provide long term solutions and improvements.
• Provide project management and technical support for Chevron Shipping Company and other Chevron projects
• Conduct feasibility studies for LNG cargo containment and associated cargo system new design concepts including economic evaluations and preparation of cost estimates

Required (Basic) Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent such as Chief Engineer License from a Maritime Academy is required.
• Minimum 5 years of related marine experience on LNG vessels

Preferred Qualifications
•A minimum of 5 years of seagoing experience on LNG ships is strongly preferred.
• Recent experience in the design and construction of Cargo Systems for LNG vessels is also preferred.
