Engineering Specialist
Qualifications
Position requires an Associate Degree in Drafting with five years of progressively responsible experience in civil, or architectural drafting, design, and computerized mapping. A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or Development is desirable. Requires working knowledge of surveying, ability to understand and use tools of the surveying trade and proficiency in mathematics and arithmetic. Practical experience in computer aided drafting and design (AUTOCAD) is required as well as working knowledge Arcview and ArcMap mapping programs. Practical experience in specification writing, estimating and field construction is highly desirable as well as experience related to the operation of a marine port and the shipping industry.
Responsibilities
Position is responsible for technical and design support to the Engineering, Construction, Planning, and Development departments by maintaining the Master Utilities Plan, establishing conceptual designs and final drawings for proposed marine port development projects, carrying out field measurements, preparing property lease area surveys, preparing aerial maps, and various other documents. Responsible for all GIS mapping, pertinent information gathering and GIS information requests from Jaxport employees
