Northeast Maritime Institute, based in Fairhaven MA and a leader in maritime education since 1981, is accepting applications and resume’s for the position of a Maritime Engineering Instructor. This position is full time and part of a team of instructors teaching the Institute’s USCG approved courses to mariners.
Candidates will have a strong maritime engineering background with at least 10 years experience. A successful candidate will have a current minimum USCG License as 2nd Engineer unlimited HP, Diesel or Chief Engineer limited Diesel, current MMD w/QMED, Tankerman, and/or DDE ratings and STCW certificate. Desirable qualities would be experience on vessels with EMD, Caterpillar and Detroit Diesel power plants up to 15,000 HP aboard coastwise tugs and ships, tankerman, a maritime degree, and teaching experience at a USCG approved training facility.
