BP Marine is an international marketing business servicing the global shipping industry with offices in over 25 countries and a turnover of around $1.8bn per annum. We are a major player in the marine Fuels and Lubricants markets and have an excellent global reputation. In addition we have been amongst the top performing business units within BP Oil over the past few years. Specifically BP Marine Fuels is the 2nd largest supplier of fuel oil with sales of 12.5 Million Tonnes a year. Responsibilities

3 Positions to manage BP’s Marine Lubricants Customer Accounts on the Gulf/ West Coasts and Northeast.

- Manage and maintain existing accounts.
- Solicit and develop prospective customers.
- Actively grow BP’s market share and profitability in this region.
- Manage customer relations at both Head Office (ie Senior Management), and ship levels.
- Develop and implement pricing and tender strategies
- Develop and maintain regional marketing and business plans
- Develop and maintain a regional marketing strategy.
- Work with BP management and JV partners to develop a fully effective market offer.
- Co-ordinate technical support with BP’s technical resources.
- Develop a broad knowledge of BP Marine Lubricants and be able to provide and accurate and concise advice to customers (again with the support of BP’s technical staff)
- Work in a federal manner to support and maximize the productivity of the whole BP Marine operation in the Americas.

Skills

· Excellent negotiating and decision making skills.
· Excellent understanding of marine products preferred
· Good organisational skills, high level of numeracy and attention to detail, required
· Excellent selling skills – previous sales experience, preferred
· Self motivation, drive, bias for action, and enthusiasm required
· Ability to organise account plans and manage a selection of accounts
· Ability to work with customers of various nationalities and understand cultural differences.

Education

Bachelors degree in engineering (preferably mechanical or marine), required
MBA, preferred
