Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field highly desired. Certificate in business data processing (programming) from a vocational data processing training school accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools, or the equivalent training in programming from an accredited college or university, or equivalent training and experience in commercial programming.
WORK EXPERIENCE: At least six years experience in the commercial business programming field. Must have EDI knowledge and experience. Transportation industry knowledge a plus. Experience in the implementation, maintenance and support of software packages in a mainframe environment.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE LEVEL: In depth knowledge and experience of EDI concepts, such as EDI standards, X12 enveloping, segment looping, mapping for transactions, etc. Practical experience of COBOL II, IBM OS JCL, CICS, DB2, and abend analysis. Must possess working knowledge of relational database management systems, teleprocessing and mainframe applications. Must be able to work well in a team environment
