Our client, a leading transportation organization in Kansas City, has created the new position of Port Authority Liaison to direct relationships between customers and the Port Authorities in the Houston region. The position will communicate the inherent advantages of the company’s transportation product, as well as assisting to implement and maintain a service network that will effectively serve the customers of the company.

This individual will be responsible for establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with customers across multiple commodity sectors to include forestry, chemical, coal, petroleum, and food products. The objective is to stimulate new business partnerships with both customers and the port authorities in Beaumont, Arthur, Mobile, and Baton Rouge.

Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with customers across multiple commodity sectors to include forestry, chemical, coal, petroleum, and food products. The objective is to stimulate new business partnerships with both customers and the port authorities in Beaumont, Arthur, Mobile, and Baton Rouge.

Desired candidate will possess exceptional business acumen, communication skills as well as superior persuasion skills. Entrepreneurial thinking, complex problem-solving skills and ability to create and implement new strategies are mandatory for this person to succeed in this role.

The successful candidate will demonstrate political and organizational agility, the ability to influence and impact, an understanding of the port system, and strategic thinking and planning capabilities. Individual should possess at least 7 years of experience in business, marketing, and strategic planning. Knowledge of transportation industry and MBA are highly preferred.

Position will report indirectly to all VP’s of commodities with a direct reporting relationship to be decided. Organization desires a candidate for the position who will have both the confidence and initiative to challenge the group to consider
