Qualifications

The selected candidate will have a minimum seven (7) years increasingly responsible experience in a marinre production environment with two (2) years increasingly responsible experience in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of accounting and cost accounting systems, material and procurement systems and data processing systems. Experience using Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word and database programs. In addition, this position requires knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations. Must have thorough knowledge of shipyard procedures, government regulations, craft jurisdictions, ship repair and administrative procedures. Experience and knowledge of all operations of the department, including machinery and tools. Todd Shipyard is an EEO employer and supports a drug free work environment.

Responsibilities

Todd Pacific Shipyards, a leader in the marine construction industry is seeking a Ship Superintendent. The ideal candidate will determine production priorities by supervising all yard work in progress on vessels. Provide documentation by writing and revising work order items. Maintain production staff by making labor adjustments to meet budget & schedule. Promote communication between departments and gather information such as drawings, condition reports and machinery condition readings from craft departments. Develop open communication with customers by coordinating projects between customers, production crafts and management. Monitor production & coordinates procurement of special machinery, transportation & equipment required for work on vessels. Maintain a safe working environment by promoting safety policies and procedures; requesting and coordinating of required permits such as Chemist or Competent Person Clearances and Hot Work Permits. This position is responsible for financial objectives by providing necessary information for the settlement of invoices & negotiation of contract changes. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information regarding vessel work progress/status reports.
