Responsibilities
The Service Engineer conducts and supervises shop and field service repair work on all SCHOTTEL products. The position requires travelling and the capability of carrying out hands-on work on SCHOTTEL products.
Duties:
- Conducts repair work on all SCHOTTEL products in the workshop.
- Carries out repair work on SCHOTTEL products at the customers location,
such as shipyards or on board vessel.
- Starts up and commissions new systems at the shipyards including seatrials,
USCG/ABS compliance demonstration etc.
- Support the Service Manager in detailed preparation of service calls.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated practical aptitude for mechanical repairs on heavy equipment
- Ability to supervise field service work and interact with customer representatives
- Troubleshooting capabilty
- Ability to work with metric units
- Understanding of electrical systems a plus
- B. S. Degree a plus
- Spanish a plus
