Qualifications

A minimum of one year of experience
working with marine personnel, payroll, and union benefits; good interpersonal skills;
ability to communicate clearly; demonstrated organizational skills; self reliance and
independent motivation; extensive knowledge of international maritime manning
agencies; seagoing maritime experience; proficiency in MS Office applications;

Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for implementing the addition of foreign crewing
capabilities in the marine personnel department. Additional responsibilities include
managing the calculation, tracking, analysis, and journalizing of monthly payroll
transactions and union contributions from the five TCSC US flagged cable ships as well
as additional foreign flagged ships as they are placed in service. This position is
responsible for analyzing and classifying expenses and withholdings to ensure timely
submittal to the accounting department for closing. Other responsibilities include
accounts payable processing and payment of marine payroll and personnel invoices.
Many of the functions of this position are unstructured due to the uniqueness of the
marine operation and are unlike similarly classfied jobs. Foreign crewing is not similar to
human resources; therefore, the successful applicant must possess extensive
knowledge of international manning agencies and the associate regulatory requirements
of foreign seafarers through on the job training.
