Qualifications
The applicant must have strong supervisory skills, including the ability to work with and communicate with both Raytheon and Subcontractor personnel. The individual
must have an extensive background in O&M support to systems that run on a variety of computing platforms, ranging from mainframe to client server environments. The systems themselves operate at varied information security
levels, from collateral to compartmented, so knowledge of automated information system security procedures is a must. Familiarity with object-oriented application languages (e.g., C++) is necessary. The ability
to work with and communicate effectively with on-site government personnel at all ratings is required.
Responsibilities
Serves as maintenance engineering lead at the NIMA Bethesda, MD site for the MSMS contract. Supervises a staff of approximately 10 maintenance engineers from both Raytheon and other subcontractors that provide a variety of engineering services to geospatial production systems, with special emphasis on maritime geospatial production systems. In addition, supervises an engineer that is attached to a special NIMA project working to stand up a Consolidated Help Desk within NIMA. Guides junior engineers through analytical processes to determine how best to maintain and, in some cases, upgrade systems that are heavily dependent upon commercial off the shelf (COTS) hardware and software. Directs special studies and prepares activity reports and briefings as requested by the Chief of Maintenance Engineering, the Director of Maintenance or the MSMS Program Manager. Oversees the development of Engineering Change proposals (ECPs) in
response to requests from the government.
