Qualifications
Profile:
Minimum honors in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university. Preference will be give to candidates who are registered Professional Engineers.
At least 8 years working industry experience at least the last 5 of which should be in upstream offshore oil and gas. Experience must have covered all aspects of process equipment detailed design, and preferably some technical support to operations.
Fully computer literate and experienced with HYSYS, Pipesim, Flowmaster etc. Experience with Olga and Visual Basic is an advantage.
Able to deliver high quality deliverables output within demanding timescales and work as both an individual and team player.
Excellent communicator both written and oral.
FPSO experience will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities
This position is open in the FPSO Systems Group, reporting directly to the Lead Process Engineer. FPSO Systems is part of the Discipline Engineering Department.
The position requires hands on relevant experience with full knowledge of all relevant design codes, state of the art calculation methods, and involvement in and execution of Process Engineering detailed works in the upstream oil and gas business.
Specifically the position will require development, preparation and checking as required of the following:
Conceptual and front end process design studies. Knowledge of specialist evaluation and sizing methods.
Process and utility system simulation models and generation of heat and mass balances.
PFD's and P&IDs for all types of offshore process and utility systems.
Process equipment sizing calculations.
Process and utility system and equipment data sheets and specifications.
Technical evaluation of vendor proposals and recommendations.
The position will also require participation in and possibly a leading role in HAZOPs and design reviews. The role requires frequent interfacing with other discipline engineers, project management team, equipment suppliers, sub-contractors and client representatives as appropriate.
