Qualifications
A minimum of eight years of increasingly responsible experience in the ship construction and repair industry required. This must include a minimum of three years’ project management experience, working with construction superintendents, craft supervisors, port engineers, vessel owners and support department managers. Generalist work experience/knowledge of ship structures, equipment and machinery. At-sea experience also required. Project contract and change order-negotiating experience. Safety and EPA requirements. Legal and marine insurance matters. Government contracting experience (FAR and DCAA) preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
As the primary manager and senior member of the project management team(s), has P&L responsibility for assigned projects, accomplished through management of scope, cost, and time. Tasks include project initiation, management of project execution, negotiation of change orders, contract interpretation, forecasting financial and schedule results, internal and supplier project support tasking, management of risk exposure, and appropriate termination of projects including billing and performance analyses.
