Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in a like position.
Working knowledge of Office 97 software (or better).
Be able to merge databases with mailings.
Self-starter.
The flexibility to adapt to new ways of doing things.
The ability to handle multiple tasks.
A customer service mentality.
Responsibilities
Reports to and takes direction from the Director of the Center for Maritime Education (CME).
Makes all travel arrangements for the CME Director.
Drafts and/or proofreads all letters and memos for the Director.
Maintains office files and detailed customer files.
Maintains databases for deep sea, coastal and inland customers.
Assists mariners, customers and the public via telephone regarding information related to CME.
Coordinates and assists with the administration and meeting dates for the CME Board Advisory Committee for each site and the database development department.
Takes care of general office responsibilities such as sending faxes, making copies, preparing mailings, renewing subscriptions, typing purchase orders, and ordering office supplies.
