Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years in a maritime terminal environment with extensive stevedoring and terminal yard experience in the movement of all types of cargo
· Effective planning and management skills
· Effective written and oral communication skills
· Knowledge of gear and equipment and their correct employment
· Knowledge of the applicable union work rules, collective bargaining agreements federal and state wage and hour laws.
· Knowledge of the applicable OSHA , EPA, HAZMAT regulations and requirements.
· Basic keyboard and P.C. Skills

1. Plan, implement and monitor the daily terminal work routine taking into account vessel, receiving and delivery requirements, type of cargo and stowage requirements.
2. Ensure that the terminal is adequately staffed to efficiently conduct operations in a cost effective manner.
3. Provide and maintain operational interface with customers, government agencies and terminal users to resolve daily problems or conflicts.
4. Resolve labor grievances or disputes at the terminal level.
5. Inspect terminal on daily basis and consult with Safety Director on terminals compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOA and HAZMAT regulations.
6. Review and approve various accident reports based on investigations for workers comp. Cargo damage and public liability insurance cases.
7. Prepare daily operational statistics and monthly production reports to PNCT management for assessment of terminal productivity and viability.
8. Ensure that all pier documentation is compiled for proper and timely billing.
9. Assist in development and planning of future terminal operations.
