Port of Puerto Deseado

The port is located on the northern margin of the Estuary of the Deseado River, at 47° 45' S. Lat. and 65° 55' W. Long. on the mouth of the same name. The sea inlet comes inland forming an estuary that follows an east-west direction; the ocean tides exercise their influence on it up to about 20 miles from its mouth. It allows the entrance of ships of up to 624 feet of length and 27/28 feet of draft. It allows the use of exterior and interior anchorage zones for ships that may have to wait for the tide or for a free pier.
