New Mangalore Port Authority

New Mangalore Port, located at Panambur on the West Coast of India in the state of Karnataka, is almost midway between the ports of Mormugao and Kochi. The port, incorporated as the ninth Major Port of India in 1974, has emerged as the 'Gateway of Karnataka' and serves to a vast hinterland stretching over the states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. New Mangalore Port, conceived as a replacement of the age-old Mangalore port, has developed in different stages over the years and contributed to the socio-economic enlistment of its hinterland.
