Detailed Description
Port of Stockton is a deep water international port located 75 nautical miles due east of the Golden Gate Bridge, on the Stockton deep water ship channel. The Port owns and operates a diversified major transportation center that encompasses more than 4,000 + acres. With the recent acquisition of the former Naval facilities on Rough & Ready Island, the Port provides berthing space for as many as 17 vessels, more than 1,000,000 square feet of dockside transit sheds, on-dock rail capabilities, and in excess of 7,000,000 square feet of warehousing for both dry bulk and general cargoes, including project, agri-bulk, lumber and steel. Excellent rail service and interstate highways support the Ports core business. The Port of Stockton’s 2002 total trade reached $ 267.3 million.
