Maritime iPhone game, Ship It! tops Games/Educational charts in the Apple app store

Chart topping iPhone game from Coracle helps leading maritime eLearning organisation reach global market

On January 25th 2011, Coracle’s iPhone game, Ship It! topped the Games/Educational charts in 10 countries (France, Portugal, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Poland, Turkey, Hungary, Czech Republic, Guatemala and Argentina) The game was also ranked in the top 10 in over 55 countries.

“Ship It!” helps players understand four basic types of ships, their related cargo, and relative loading times. The ultimate goal is to manage all ships and cargo in the most efficient manner, while having fun.

“This learning-based game from Coracle has the goals of being both educational and lots of fun,” states James Tweed, founder of Coracle. “This game is a great way to promote the maritime industry whilst demonstrating that we can use this platform to build simulated training modules.”

Other maritime related apps from Coracle include the Maritime Glossary, Ports Information and Maritime Twitter Top40. More apps are due to be launched by Coracle in the coming weeks.
