Seattle, Washington, April 4, 2011 – BlueView Technologies the world leader in compact acoustic imaging and measurement technology has added Nick Lesnikowski as 3D Product Manager/ACSM Hydrographer. Lesnikowski will direct and manage BlueView’s 3D Mechanical Scanning and MicroBathymetry product lines, and will provide technical support for hydrographic survey applications.
After receiving a degree in Geology from the University of Massachusetts in 1982, Lesnikowski worked as a geophysicist for Amoco Production Company in New Orleans interpreting seismic data on projects in the Gulf of Mexico. While at Amoco he was also involved in assessing potential shallow hazards for rig and platform installations which started his interest in high resolution data acquisition and analysis. He later served as a commissioned officer in the NOAA Corps performing survey duties on the ships Surveyor and Discoverer utilizing some of the agency’s first deepwater multibeam systems. During the past 20 years he has been employed by two marine survey companies, Williamson & Associates specializing in worldwide deepwater cable and pipeline routing, and David Evans & Associates, Inc. specializing in detailed hydrographic surveying. As an ACSM certified hydrographer, Lesnikowski brings an impressive skill set and experience level to BlueView. Additionally, his experience in deepwater operations will complement BlueView’s expansions into the deepwater arena.
“BlueView’s BV5000 system fills a major void in hydrographic survey instrumentation. Data and imagery that would have taken days or even weeks to collect can now be gathered in a matter of hours, and from locations and sites once unreachable with traditional systems. There is a real opportunity to deliver practical, cost effective solutions to a worldwide hydrographic market with BlueView,” said Lesnikowski.
“BlueView seeks to bring 3D measurement and visualization to a new level in underwater environments and Nick will provide the expertise and guidance to ensure we deliver high-performance, market-focused solutions,” said Lee Thompson, BlueView CEO/CTO.
BlueView is the leader in 2D imaging and 3D scanning sonar solutions with more than 500 installed systems worldwide. BlueView Technologies’ advanced sonar systems are currently deployed on AUVs, ROVs, surface vessels, fixed installations, and portable tripods, and have been adopted by leading manufacturers and service providers to support mission critical operations. BlueView customers enjoy a low cost of ownership with reliable operation, exceptional service, in-person training, extensive online information, and worldwide after-sale support.
