March 2, 2012
TOKYO—Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced the launch of a plan to regularly publish the results of several key performance indicators (KPI) for its Containership service globally in the following categories: Operations, Environmental, and Safety.
Operations : Vessel on-time performance percentage
Environmental : Reduction ratio of CO2, NOx & SOx
Safety : Number of long-time(*) operational stoppage per
year (*) For consecutive 3 days or more
MOL has established a set of goals for each of these KPI in an effort to offer industry-leading transparency to customers and to showcase MOL’s strength as a carrier that provides high-quality service.
In addition to the above Global KPI, MOL is planning to launch Regional KPI that are more specific for and focused on the services required in each region.
MOL has already been very transparent with our on-time performance and now it is making a point to provide additional KPI results for customers. This expanded effort to share service performance with the world will show customers that when they need reliable containership services they can “Count on MOL”.
The KPI results will be published on March 6 and shared with customers in a dedicated website: www.CountOnMOL.com, which is also linked from MOL’s Containership service global website: www.MOLPower.com.
