Offshore Marine Service Association News Conference To Release New Information On The Impact Of The Drilling Moratorium And To Discuss The Use Of American Vessels In The
Gulf Oil Spill Clean-Up Effort
WHAT: The evidence is growing that the moratorium on offshore drilling will have strong negative implications on the economy of the Gulf Coast and potentially the country as a whole.
Representatives of the offshore workboat and shipyard industries will discuss:
· Impact of the drilling moratorium on the energy sector and the potential impact on the nation, including a look at states that may be affected.
· A meeting this week between offshore vessel operators, the U.S. Coast Guard and BP regarding the availability and role of U.S.-flag vessels in the spill response in the Gulf, including addressing BP payments to companies involved in the cleanup
Working mariners and shipyard workers concerned about the moratorium will be available to speak one-on-one with reporters.
