The Port of Oakland is a major U.S. container port located in the San Francisco Bay, offering uncongested terminals, deep drafts, extensive rail and truck intermodal connections, and nearby warehousing to facilitate cargo movement.

The Port of Oakland is the fourth busiest container port in the U.S. There are 9 modern container terminals occupying over 770 acres of land. Competitive rail and doublestack service are offered between Oakland and major markets in North America via the two class 1 railroads that serve the port: BSNF and UP. The Port is also located adjacent to the major interstate freeways and is served by all the major motor carriers. Nearby warehouses, transload facilities and maritime support facilities are located in and around the Port to facilitate the processing of cargo at the Port.
