In mid-2001,GATX Logistics was acquired by APL Logistics and GATX Logistics changed its name to APL Logistics. In addition, two other entities also changed theirs. GATX Freight Systems became APL Logistics Freight Systems. And GATX eLogistics Corp. became APL Direct Logistics.
The benefits of GATX Logistics becoming part of APL Logistics are many. Our
geographic reach is more substantial because of APL’s presence in the Asian
markets. Our scope of services is broader because of the long list of services APL Logistics offers, such as Expedited Air Services to manage air shipments and International Intermodal Express (IIX) for moving less-than-container-load shipments.
