Geneva-based Advantage Tankers confirms two dual-fuel-ready suezmax newbuildings at Samsung Heavy Industries, while China's Wison New Energies signs an EPCIC contract for an FPSO destined for offshore Ivory Coast.

## Advantage Tankers Expands Fleet with Suezmax Newbuildings at Samsung Geneva-based Advantage Tankers has placed an order for two suezmax crude tankers at South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries, according to Splash247. The vessels — named *Advantage Spirit* and *Advantage Synergy* — are each rated at 157,000 dwt and are listed as dual-fuel-ready units on the owner's newbuilding page. Priced at $88.25 million apiece, the pair represents a significant capital commitment by the Tugrul Tokgoz-led owner as it moves to modernise and expand its crude tanker fleet. The dual-fuel-ready designation positions the vessels to accommodate evolving emissions regulations and alternative fuel adoption, reflecting a broader industry trend toward future-proofed tonnage. Samsung Heavy Industries continues to attract premium tanker orders, reinforcing South Korea's competitive standing in the global newbuilding market for large crude carriers. ## Wison New Energies Wins EPCIC Contract for Baleine Phase 3 FPSO In the offshore energy sector, China's Wison New Energies has officially signed the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) contract for the Baleine Phase 3 FPSO facility, Splash247 reports. The contract was concluded with energy major Eni and Altera Infrastructure for a unit destined for deployment offshore Ivory Coast. The award marks a continuation of Wison's involvement in the Baleine project, having previously participated in the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) phase. The seamless transition from FEED to full EPCIC execution underscores the Chinese contractor's growing capability in delivering integrated, end-to-end offshore solutions — a segment in which Asian yards and contractors are increasingly competitive against established Western players. The Baleine field, operated by Eni, is one of West Africa's notable recent deepwater discoveries, and the Phase 3 FPSO will be instrumental in scaling up production capacity in the region. --- *Sources: Splash247*
