Biopesticides Market Forecast to Grow Over 11% Annually Through 2031
By MGN Editorial•March 5, 2026 at 08:42 PM
Mordor Intelligence projects the global biopesticides market will grow from $6.72 billion in 2025 to $12.65 billion by 2031, driven by increasing restrictions on synthetic pesticides.
The global biopesticides market is forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of over 11% from 2026 to 2031, according to a new report from market research firm Mordor Intelligence.
The report projects the market will expand from $6.72 billion in 2025 to $7.46 billion in 2026, ultimately reaching $12.65 billion by 2031. This growth is being driven by increasing restrictions on the use of synthetic pesticides, as well as growing demand for sustainable and environmentally-friendly crop protection solutions.
Biopesticides are naturally-derived pest control products made from animals, plants, bacteria, and certain minerals. They are seen as a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional chemical pesticides, which have come under scrutiny for their environmental impact.
'The global shift towards sustainable agriculture practices and the growing demand for organic food products are the major factors driving the growth of the biopesticides market,' the Mordor Intelligence report states. 'Governments across the world are implementing stringent regulations to curb the use of synthetic pesticides, which is further propelling the adoption of biopesticides.'
The report highlights key trends in the biopesticides market, including the rising popularity of microbial biopesticides, increased research and development into new biopesticide formulations, and the integration of biopesticides into precision agriculture technologies.
Overall, the findings suggest the maritime shipping industry can expect to see continued growth in the biopesticides segment as agricultural producers seek out more sustainable pest control solutions to meet evolving regulatory and consumer demands.
