Cashman Preload Cryogenics Named LNG Tank Partner for Power LNG's Project Seawolf in Galveston
By MGN Editorial•November 5, 2026 at 06:00 PM
Power LNG Ventures has selected Cashman Preload Cryogenics as its LNG tank engineering partner for Project Seawolf, a marine LNG bunkering facility planned for Pelican Island in Galveston, Texas.
## Cashman Preload Cryogenics Tapped for Galveston Marine LNG Fueling Project
Power LNG Ventures has selected Cashman Preload Cryogenics (CPC), an affiliate of Jay Cashman, Inc., as its LNG tank partner for Project Seawolf, a marine LNG fueling facility slated for development on Pelican Island in Galveston, Texas, according to a press release issued November 5, 2026.
CPC will be responsible for engineering the cryogenic storage tanks central to the facility's design, marking a significant step forward in the project's development. The Quincy, Massachusetts-based firm brings specialist expertise in cryogenic tank engineering through its affiliation with Jay Cashman, Inc., a well-established name in marine construction and infrastructure.
Project Seawolf represents a notable addition to the Gulf Coast's growing LNG bunkering infrastructure. Galveston's Pelican Island location positions the facility to serve vessel operators across one of North America's busiest maritime corridors, where demand for LNG as a marine fuel continues to expand as shipowners seek compliance pathways with tightening emissions regulations.
The selection of a dedicated cryogenic engineering partner underscores the technical complexity of marine LNG fueling infrastructure, which requires precision-engineered storage solutions capable of maintaining liquefied natural gas at temperatures approaching -162°C (-260°F). CPC's involvement signals that the project is advancing through its engineering and design phases.
The Gulf of Mexico region has seen increasing investment in LNG bunkering capacity in recent years, driven by growing adoption of LNG-fueled vessels in the Jones Act trade, offshore supply sector, and international shipping calling at Texas ports. A dedicated marine LNG fueling facility at Galveston would provide operators with a strategically located supply point serving both port calls and offshore operations.
Further details regarding Project Seawolf's capacity, timeline, and commercial operations schedule were not disclosed in the announcement.
