Chevron Taps Worley for Cyprus Gas Field Engineering

By MGN EditorialMarch 13, 2026 at 09:45 AM

Australian engineering firm Worley selected for front-end design and procurement work on Chevron's Aphrodite gas field development offshore Cyprus.

Australian offshore engineering company Worley has been selected by Chevron to provide front‑end engineering design (FEED) and procurement services for the Aphrodite gas field development offshore Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean, according to a report from Splash247. Worley will be responsible for FEED engineering across the full Aphrodite field development, which includes subsea infrastructure, an offshore production platform, and an onshore gas processing facility. The Aphrodite field is located in Block 12 of Cyprus' exclusive economic zone and is estimated to contain over 4.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. 'This award demonstrates Worley's continued focus on supporting our clients in the energy transition and developing new energy sources,' said Chris Ashton, Worley's Chief Executive Officer. 'We look forward to working with Chevron on this strategically important project for Cyprus.' The selection of Worley for this work is a significant development for Chevron's plans to bring the Aphrodite field into production. As The Maritime Executive reports, Cyprus has been working to develop its offshore natural gas resources to reduce its reliance on imported fuels and position itself as a regional energy hub. The Aphrodite field is one of the largest gas discoveries in the region in recent years.
