East Anglia Three Offshore Wind Farm Advances with Cable Installation

By MGN EditorialFebruary 18, 2026 at 09:31 PM

Inter-array cable installation is underway at the 1.4 GW East Anglia Three offshore wind farm, a major milestone in the project's development.

The East Anglia Three offshore wind farm project has reached a significant milestone, with the start of inter-array cable installation. According to Offshore Energy, the vessel Seaway Aimery is currently laying the cables that will connect the wind turbines to the offshore substation. The 1.4 GW East Anglia Three wind farm is being developed by Iberdrola's UK subsidiary ScottishPower Renewables. Once completed, it will be one of the largest offshore wind projects in the UK, capable of powering over 1.3 million homes. 'The start of inter-array cable installation is a major step forward for the East Anglia Three project,' said a spokesperson for ScottishPower Renewables. 'This critical infrastructure will allow us to efficiently transmit the renewable energy generated by the wind farm to the grid, supporting the UK's transition to a low-carbon future.' The East Anglia Three project is part of the East Anglia Hub, a group of three large-scale offshore wind farms being developed by Iberdrola in the southern North Sea. The company has committed to investing £6 billion in the East Anglia Hub, which will have a total installed capacity of 3.1 GW once completed.
