## Got a Story Worth Telling About Ocean Tech? Nancy Donnelly Can Help After a career producing for National Geographic, the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation, and a handful of stops in between, award-winning story producer Nancy Donnelly has launched her own shop, Understorey. The company works with nonprofits, agencies, and the companies alongside them to build storytelling that moves funders, partners, and the public. Marine tech regulars may already know one piece of her work: a video on AIS beacon technology for detecting North Atlantic right whales, produced with Maritime Information Systems' Moses Calouro, which screened at Capitol Hill Ocean Week this year. Donnelly's reel includes two News & Documentary Emmy nominations — for Best Science and Best Long-Form Informational Programming — a Remi Award from Houston WorldFest, and coverage in the New York Times and the New Yorker. "The tech and the science in this space are usually ahead of the story," Donnelly says. "A lot of organizations doing real work can't get anyone outside their field to understand why it matters.
