Hornblower Group announces the expansion of its Bridgeport, CT shipyard facility, significantly increasing its footprint and service offerings in the region.

Hornblower Group, a leading maritime services provider, has announced the expansion of its industry-leading Steelpointe Shipyard facility in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The expansion will significantly increase Hornblower's footprint in the region, growing the shipyard to 17 acres and enabling the company to offer a wider range of vessel construction, propulsion, management, consulting, and yachting services. According to the press release, the historic expansion will allow Hornblower to better serve its growing customer base in the Northeast. The company plans to leverage the expanded facility to construct new vessels, provide propulsion system upgrades and maintenance, and offer comprehensive management and consulting services for maritime operators. The shipyard will also host a new yachting services division, catering to the luxury vessel market. 'This is a transformative moment for Hornblower and our operations in Bridgeport,' said Kevin Rabbitt, CEO of Hornblower Group. 'The expanded Steelpointe Shipyard will enable us to significantly grow our capabilities and serve an even wider range of maritime clients throughout the region.' The announcement comes as the maritime industry continues to see increased demand for vessel construction, maintenance, and management services. Shipyards across North America have been expanding capacity to keep up with this trend, which has been driven by factors like the growth of offshore wind, increased domestic energy production, and supply chain challenges impacting global shipping. Hornblower's investment in Bridgeport underscores the company's commitment to the Northeast market and positions it for continued growth in the years ahead. The expanded shipyard is expected to create new job opportunities in the region and bolster Bridgeport's status as a hub for maritime industry activity.
