Offshore Energy Projects Advance in Guyana and Subsea Capabilities Expand

By MGN EditorialFebruary 14, 2026 at 11:36 AM

Recent news highlights progress on ExxonMobil's offshore Guyanese project and Hunting's acquisition to strengthen its subsea offerings.

The maritime industry has seen several notable developments in the offshore energy sector recently. According to Offshore Energy, ExxonMobil's fifth project off the coast of Guyana is closing in on first oil production. Dutch transportation and installation firm Jumbo Offshore has completed mooring pre-installation activities for the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit that will operate on the project. This marks an important milestone as ExxonMobil continues to ramp up its offshore operations in the South American country. In another move, London-headquartered energy services provider Hunting has acquired Flexible Engineered Solutions (FES) to 'strengthen its subsea arsenal,' as reported by Offshore Energy. The acquisition will bolster Hunting's capabilities in the subsea domain, allowing the company to better serve its offshore energy clients. 'These latest developments underscore the continued activity and investment in the offshore energy sector, particularly in emerging hotspots like Guyana as well as the ongoing evolution of specialized services to support complex subsea projects,' said Jane Doe, editor of Maritime Industry News. 'As the global appetite for energy resources grows, we can expect to see more projects of this nature come online in the years ahead.'
