SINEXCEL Completes 107 MW Battery Storage Project in China

By MGN EditorialApril 30, 2026 at 12:00 AM

SINEXCEL has successfully commissioned a large-scale 107.12 MW/428.48 MWh battery energy storage system in Guangyuan, China, marking significant progress in industrial-scale energy infrastructure deployment.

SINEXCEL (300693.SZ) has announced the successful grid connection of a 107.12 MW/428.48 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Guangyuan, Sichuan Province, China, according to a PR Newswire release dated April 30, 2026. The facility utilizes a 1,725 kW power conversion system (PCS) and is designed to serve the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector. The project represents one of the larger utility-scale energy storage deployments in China's industrial base, reflecting accelerating investment in grid-scale battery technology across Asia-Pacific markets. BESS installations have become essential infrastructure as renewable energy integration accelerates globally. These systems provide critical functions including grid stabilization, peak load shifting, frequency regulation, and backup power—enabling commercial and industrial users to optimize energy consumption while reducing operational costs. For the maritime and ports sector, developments in large-scale energy storage carry broader implications. As port facilities and shipping operations increasingly pursue electrification and decarbonization targets, reliable energy storage infrastructure becomes essential for supporting electric cargo handling equipment, vessel cold-ironing systems, and shore-based maritime operations. China continues to lead global investment in battery storage capacity, with government policy supporting renewable energy integration across industrial regions. SINEXCEL's Guangyuan project demonstrates the technical and economic viability of multi-hundred megawatt energy storage deployments in supporting China's energy transition objectives.
