Offshore drilling contractor Stena Drilling receives DNV's Abate (P+) notation for one of its drillships, highlighting the company's efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
In a move that underscores the maritime industry's growing focus on sustainability, Scotland-headquartered offshore drilling contractor Stena Drilling has received DNV's Abate (P+) notation for one of its 2024-built drillships. This prestigious certification recognizes the rig owner's commitment to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions abatement across its operations.
According to Offshore Energy, the Abate (P+) notation indicates that the drillship has been designed, constructed, and will be operated in a manner that minimizes its environmental impact. This includes the implementation of advanced technologies and operational practices aimed at reducing the vessel's carbon footprint.
