Waterdrop Filter and The Water Project celebrate 9 years of providing clean water and strengthening communities worldwide on World Water Day 2026.

On World Water Day 2026, global water purification leader Waterdrop Filter announced the ninth year of its partnership with The Water Project. The two organizations have worked together since 2017 to bring clean, safe drinking water to communities in need around the world. 'Our partnership with The Water Project has allowed us to have a profound impact on the lives of millions who previously lacked access to clean water,' said Waterdrop CEO Jane Doe. 'Together, we've constructed wells, installed filtration systems, and educated local populations on water sanitation - all in service of our mission to ensure everyone has the clean water they need to thrive.' According to The Water Project, the joint initiatives have provided clean water access to over 3 million people across Africa and Asia since the partnership began. Waterdrop has contributed both financial support and technical expertise, while The Water Project has leveraged its local community networks to identify the areas of greatest need and coordinate project implementation. 'Clean water is foundational to human health, economic opportunity, and community resilience,' said The Water Project founder John Smith. 'Our work with Waterdrop has transformed lives and empowered people to build a better future for themselves and their children. We're proud to celebrate this milestone and look forward to many more years of impactful collaboration.' The announcement comes as the United Nations marks World Water Day 2026, an annual observance highlighting the importance of freshwater resources. This year's theme, 'Valuing Water', emphasizes the multifaceted role water plays in supporting sustainable development, environmental protection, and thriving communities worldwide.
