By MGN EditorialMarch 24, 2026 at 12:41 PM

Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, announces the acquisition of ThermoKey to expand its thermal management solutions for converged physical infrastructure.

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, has announced plans to acquire ThermoKey, an Italian manufacturer of heat rejection solutions. The transaction is expected to increase customer optionality across the thermal chain, helping to optimize power utilization and energy efficiency for AI-ready data centers. According to the press release, the acquisition will expand Vertiv's heat rejection portfolio, providing customers with a broader range of solutions to manage the thermal requirements of converged physical infrastructure. This includes data centers, telecommunications networks, and other mission-critical facilities. 'This strategic acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver comprehensive thermal management solutions that enable our customers to optimize power utilization and energy efficiency,' said Rob Johnson, Vertiv's Chief Executive Officer. 'ThermoKey's innovative products and strong European presence complement our global footprint and solutions portfolio.' The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. It is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026. This move by Vertiv aligns with broader trends in the maritime industry, where growing demand for data-driven services and increasing reliance on digital infrastructure is driving investment in advanced cooling and thermal management technologies. As ships, ports, and logistics networks become more connected and automated, the ability to efficiently manage heat loads from computing and power systems will be crucial. 'Vertiv's acquisition of ThermoKey is another sign of the maritime industry's digital transformation,' said John Konrad, founder of gCaptain. 'Robust, energy-efficient cooling solutions will be essential as the sector continues to adopt AI, cloud computing, and other advanced technologies.'
