## Offshore Energy Briefing: Yinson Production Expands into China, NextGeo Secures Dutch Wind Survey Deal
### Yinson Production Establishes Shanghai Presence
Singapore-based Yinson Production, a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur-headquartered energy infrastructure and technology group Yinson, has officially opened a new office in Shanghai, according to Offshore Energy. The move is designed to deepen collaboration with Chinese shipyards, fabrication partners, suppliers, and technology providers as the company looks to strengthen its project execution capabilities.
China's dominance in offshore vessel construction and fabrication makes a local presence strategically significant for FPSO and offshore infrastructure developers. By embedding personnel closer to key supply chain partners, Yinson Production aims to improve oversight, reduce lead times, and foster tighter working relationships during the critical build and commissioning phases of its projects. The Shanghai office signals the company's intent to leverage China's extensive offshore manufacturing ecosystem as it pursues growth across its global portfolio.
### NextGeo Wins €9 Million TenneT Survey Contract
Italy-based offshore survey specialist Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) has been awarded a contract valued at approximately €9 million by Dutch transmission system operator TenneT, Offshore Energy reports. The contract covers survey operations within a Dutch offshore wind zone, adding to NextGeo's growing portfolio of European energy transition work.
The award reflects the accelerating pace of offshore wind development in the North Sea, where extensive geophysical and geotechnical survey campaigns are required ahead of foundation installation and cable-laying operations. TenneT is one of Europe's most active offshore grid developers, with an ambitious programme to connect large-scale wind farms to the Dutch and German electricity networks. Contracts of this nature are increasingly competitive as demand for specialist survey vessels and expertise outpaces available capacity across the region.
The two developments collectively highlight the breadth of activity across the offshore energy sector — from FPSO project execution in Asian yards to the survey groundwork underpinning Europe's renewable energy buildout. Both stories underscore the industry's continued investment in infrastructure and specialist services as energy transition and traditional hydrocarbon projects advance in parallel.
